ALMA has got acceptance of delivery on schedule issued at Neste Oil. "The system has worked well, the service has been good and the contacts among the staff have been active", thanks Mr. Sven Karlsson, Section manager of Neste Jacobs’ automation engineering.

Neste Jacobs consulting engineers switched over to New Generation ALMA NG in May 2009. FieldALMA covers all the circuits, devices, connection coupling paths and field system data. Amongst the products of engineering work are reports that can be modified or used as layout templates for next creation of engineering. The information generated in projects may be used for maintenance, in change-design, and in new projects. The maintenance people at the Neste Oil refinery use WebALMA which enables access to correct data in the ALMA database despite of time or place. The system smoothly transfers the drawings and related technical documentation to the partners all around the world.

When the engineering is done, with the help of a database it is easy to start new projects and make changes to the available existing material in hand. The database is also instantly available for the maintenance people. ”We are also about to start a renewal project for the security systems at the Porvoo refinery", tells Mr. Karlsson. Neste Oil’s maintenance people are also satisfied with WebALMA. "Our people especially like fast access to data and efficient search engines", Mr. Karlsson notes.

ALMA’s features are appreciated in this robust and demanding environment. "In autumn 2009 we will do the comprehensive testing of the document revision handling system. The issued mill model database and the provisional project database will be fully separated so that the maintenance people can rely on the correct issued data”, explains Mr. Karlsson. The modeled document parts are currently moved to the established ALMA project database.
