Started in 2002 as planning and maintenance development, the co-operation with Kemira Oyj Oulu plant continues. DocALMA fills the high requirements of the plant document management.

Improving profitability and competitivity requires accurate and fast document management in all the areas of technology. ”We chose DocALMA to replace our previous document management system. This was a natural continuation for the good co-operation between Alma Marketing Oy and Kemira Oyj”, tells Plant Service Manager Ilkka Palsola. ALMA was earlier taken in use in automation engineering. DocALMA now strenghtens all the plant functions as the time spent for searching accurate and up to date information shortens and also the required decisions and actions can be done faster.

At Kemira Oyj Oulu plant, ALMA was the obvious choice. ”ALMA is the suitable system for our needs and it also speeds up the planning in engineering. The overall costs were reasonable and the service provider has very good references”, continues Palsola. ”Now that the system has the required amount of basic information, the benefits come from the attributes how information is integrated”, he explains.

”In the future we are going to expand ALMA to make the most of the up to date information”, states Palsola.

With DocALMA, it is possible to manage all the files and revisions from the ALMA product family or even from other application tools. The system improves sharing information and co-action over departmental, sectional and organizational borders, at the same time assuring security. That is why DocALMA has a central role in the whole life cycle management.

There is also an independently working, so called stand-alone DMS version of DocALMA which enables the technical documentation management safely over departmental and organizational borders. This stand-alone version is easily extended and appended to the other parts of ALMA engineering and knowledge management system, whereat the planning, the project and as well the maintenance and service documentation can be managed as an ensemble.

Kemira Oyj Oulu Plant employs about 170 people. The main products are formic acid, hydrogen peroxide and derivatives. Kemira is an international chemicals company with netsales of 2,8 billion.
